Whether you’ve had your carpets cleaned a handful of times or this is your first go at it, it’s helpful to know what to expect from the professional carpet cleaning company that has luckily been chosen by YOU.
Hopefully you’ve done a bit of research prior to selecting the right company for your home.

Below is a list of what you can expect from HammondKnoll and what you should expect from other professional companies.
Here’s what you can anticipate. (If you use Knoll, this is what will happen!)
One Day Before Cleaning Day
The day prior you’ll receive a reminder shout out either by phone, email or text.
The Day of the Cleaning
Get excited because the technician will give you a call when he or she is on their way.
The Pre-Cleaning Process
#1: Your technician will be wearing a HammondKnoll (or company) shirt. They should be driving a marked van with the company name on the side.
Often, you can view the staff on the company’s website.
Feel free to take a peek here at our amazing staff!
#2: The technician will walk through your home with you to view the areas you requested to have cleaned, as well as any areas where you have special concerns, (ie pet stains or odors).
#3: He or she should measure the areas to give you a quote. Don’t accept not getting a quote upfront. This will help you avoid confrontations or overcharges. (They’ll most likely ask you about applying fabric protection. 😉 😉 )
The Big Show (AKA The Actual Cleaning)
#1: The cleaning process starts with pre-vacuuming the areas that are going to be cleaned.
#2: A pre-spray needs to be applied to the carpet for spot removal. Some spots will need additional spotting treatment. This, of course, should be done at no extra charge.
#3: This is where the carpet cleaning comes in: We clean the carpet! 😁
#4: The technician will wrap it all up by raking the carpet. (Unless it’s looped!)
#5: It’s payment time! With HK, you have lots of options: We accept checks, Visa, Mastercard, Amex or Discover.
You should always expect a copy of the work order via email or a paper copy. We do email, however, if you would like a copy mailed to you, you can request it at the time of service.
A Couple of Important Things to Remember
The price for carpet cleaning includes moving furniture within reason, excluding TVs, entertainment centers, pianos, hutches, etc.
If you have something heavy (bed, coffee table, dining table, etc.), please reach out to our staff prior to your scheduled date. If we’re moving tables, please have knick-knacks and lamps removed ahead of time.
If you wish to move the furniture before our arrival, there’s a 15% discount. (minimums apply)
If you have an entrance or driveway to your home that is difficult for a van to access, please let the office know ahead of time
