Before the "Tonight Show" first aired, before Disneyland saw it's first visitor, and even before the first Mcdonald's servered it's first hamburger, Cartozian & Sons was long established company in the Puget Sound area. Cartozian's was selling carpeting and area rugs and also specialized in cleaning oriental rugs, upholstery and carpet throughout the Puget Sound area. With the growth of two divergent sides of the business, the founder, Edward Cartozian found himself concentrating on the sales and installation side of things and decided to make a change. So, in the 1960's Ed Cartozian sold the cleaning portion of Cartozian's to two of his employees; Bob Hammond & Eugene Knoll. They quietly renamed the cleaning business Hammond Knoll.
